The Notice of Initial Proposed IEP is the official notice to the parent/guardian that an Initial Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is being proposed.
The Notice of Initial Proposed IEP section will now populate within the IEP created. To view the Notice of Initial Proposed IEP page, hover over "Cover Page" and select that page. This page should only appear if it is an Initial Evaluation and the CCC has detemrined that the student qualified for special education services. This notice will be sent home with a copy of the Proposed IEP for the student.
The notice explains what the school is proposing, why these services and supports are being recommended, and the evaluations or assessments that were used to guide the decisions, other options considered, and their rights and safeguard as a parent.
Parent/guardians must review the IEP and choose to :
Consent to services (the IEP will begin)
Decline services
Previously in IIEP, this was included on the last page of the finalized IEP that we sent home to parents to sign. Powerschool Special Programs now does this too.
If the Notice of Initial Proposed page is not populating, open the IEP. Hover over, "Set Document" from the drop-down menu select, "Sections". On the new page, check and uncheck the section(s) you need to add or omit. Once you have selected the page you need, click "Accept".
